The Kukka Cardigan Chunky is a classic open front cardigan. It is cut closely to the body but not tight-ly and, knitted from fluffy yarns, fits wonderfully under a winter jacket. If you work the
cardigan in a fluffy, light yarn, it is perfect for the transition time in spring and autumn. The Kukka Cardigan Chunky is worked flat top down with raglan increases. The sleeves are worked in rounds with the Magic Loop method, double pointed needles or any other needle system of your choice. The front bands are worked with slip stitches and create the typical “Kukka look” together with the easy to remember rice grain pattern.

Each 350 (400) 450 (500) 550 (550) 600 (700) 750 g Kremke Soul Wool Breeze (61 % silk, 39 % wool, meterage approx. 100 m/ 50 g) in colour 16 Toffee.

(72 % cotton, 17% wool (merino), 10 % alpaca (baby), meterage approx. 215 m/ 50 g), 64 Sandbeige 1 Thread,
together with 175 (175) 200 (200) 225 (250) 275 (300) 350 g Lana Grossa Silkhair  (70 % mohair, 30 % silk, meterage approx. 210 m/ 25 g), 18 Hellbeige, 2 Threads.
Recommended needles
Circular needle 6 mm, 40 cm and 100 cm long,
Circular needle 6,5 mm,100 cm long.
The sleeves are worked on circular needles
(6 mm and 6,5 mm, 100 cm long) with the Magic Loop method.
Alternatively, they can be worked with short circular needles (e.g. 40 cm), with dpns or any other needle system of your choice.
Knit a gauge swatch first and adjust needle size, if necessary.
Gauge, washed and blocked
10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch =
14 sts x 23 rows on needle 6,5 mm.
Supplies
Stitch markers, 2 stitch holder or waste yarn, wool needle, measuring tape, scissors.
