Makikki Shirt is designed with an interesting construction and is worked seamlessly top down.
First a round yoke is worked, followed by raglan increases, until the shirt’s width is reached. The round neckline is shaped with short rows. The short sleeves are worked in rounds. The Makikki Shirt has a relaxed fit and is framed by wide sleeve and hem cuffs

Recommended needles: Circular needles 3 mm, 40 cm long, 3,5 mm, 40 cm and min. 100 cm long.
The sleeves are worked on a short circular needle. Alternatively, they can be worked on a long circular needle with the Magic Loop method, with dpns or any other needle system of your choice.
Supplies: Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, wool needle, measuring tape, scissors.
Gauge: 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch = 24 sts x 32 rounds with needle 3,5 mm, washed and blocked.
Knit a gauge swatch first and adjust the needle size if necessary.
Please keep in mind, that a gauge swatch in rounds is worked differently to gauge swatches in rows.

Tip: When knitting with cotton or a similar yarn, such as Zitron Echt or Drops Safran, bear in mind that it may widens when worn and contracts again after washing. The shirt will therefore „feel“ bigger than a shirt knitted with merino or a merino blend yarn, e.g. MMe Benoir WooLino or Lana Grossa Alta Moda Cotolana.
I therefore recommend knitting the shirt in non-elastic yarns (cotton, silk, etc.) perhaps one size smaller.
