Niine Top Knitting Pattern – a seamless, close-fitting top with a V-neck at both front and back

The Niine Top knitting pattern includes a detailed step-by-step tutorial with many photos and links to the rosa p. YouTube channel.

The Niine Top is a close-fitting design with a V-neck at both the front and back. You can wear it as a top, a bra, a chemisette or as a warm extra layer in winter.

It is worked from the bottom up, allowing you to adjust both the body length and the strap length to suit you perfectly. First, the body is worked in the round. The work is then divided for the front and back, which are continued separately in rows. The V-necks are shaped with pronounced right- and left-leaning decreases. The straps are joined with a three-needle bind-off for a clean finish without a visible seam.

The Niine Top is worked throughout with one needle size.

FAQs

Which size should I knit?

Use the finished bust circumference as a guide: 74 / 82 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 122 / 133 cm / 29¼ / 32¼ / 35½ / 39¼ / 43¼ / 48 / 52¼ in (sizes 1–7).

As the Niine Top can be worn close to the body, choose your size according to the fit you would like: a top or bra can be worn with more negative ease, while a chemisette or extra layer can have a little more room.

Why does the Niine Top have negative ease?

The Niine Top is intentionally designed to fit close to the body. The negative ease allows it to sit securely as a top, bra or chemisette underneath a blouse or cardigan without slipping. The knitted fabric stretches slightly when worn and adapts to the body, provided that your gauge is correct and your yarn has enough elasticity or structure.

Is the Niine Top suitable for beginners?

The difficulty level is ●●●○○. You should be confident working in the round and in rows, and be able to work decreases neatly. All steps are explained in detail and supported with photos.

How is the Niine Top knitted?

The Niine Top is worked from the bottom up. First, the body is worked in the round. It is then divided for the front and back, which are continued separately in rows.

How are the V-necks shaped?

The V-necks at the front and back are shaped with pronounced right- and left-leaning decreases.

Can I adjust the length?

Yes. As the top is worked from the bottom up, you can easily adjust both the body length and the strap length to suit your measurements. Please note that extra length may increase the yarn requirement.

How are the straps joined?

The straps are joined with a three-needle bind-off. This creates a stable connection without a visible seam.

Do I need several needle sizes?

No. The Niine Top is worked throughout with one needle size: 3.5 mm circular needles.

Which yarns are suitable as alternatives?

Many fingering or 4-ply yarns can work, provided that you match gauge:

24 sts × 32 rows/rounds in stockinette stitch = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in with 3.5 mm needles, washed and blocked.

The product description includes several alternatives with yarn requirements.

Do I need to wash my swatch?

Yes. Gauge should always be measured after washing and blocking. Especially with cotton, linen and blended fibres, the knitted fabric can change noticeably after washing.

How will I receive the pattern?

After payment, you will receive a download link for the digital pattern.
