The Pippa Socks are worked cuff down to the toe.
As the heel flap is worked flat with slip stitches, you create not only a pretty, but also a particularly durable sock.
The heel flap is shaped with short rows. The gusset is worked with right and left leaning decreases.
The toe is easy to knit and looks great on the foot.
You like colours? Work your Pippa Socks with wide or slim stripes in between the Vikkel Braids or with a self-striping yarn.
The Pippa Socks will turn out even more beautiful, when you add colour to the cuff, heel and toe.
You prefer a longer leg for winter time? Or the classic length for transition season? Vary the length of the leg as you like.

For the Pippa Socks I have used classic 4-ply sock yarn, made of wool and polyamide.

and contrasting colour each 30 g Rohrspatz und Wollmeise
Wollmeisen Birdie (80 % wool, 20 % polyamide, meterage approx. 93 m/30 g) here: in col. Limone and Frühlin.

Recommended needles
Circular needle 2 – 3 mm, min. 80 – 100 cm long.
Optional: 1 crochet hook in the same size as the circular needle and 1 dpn 2 – 3 mm for rearranging the stitches.
Gauge, washed and blocked
10 mal 10 cm in stockinette stitch =
30 stitches x 42 rounds on needle 2 – 3 mm.
Supplies
Wool needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch markers.
For the provisional cast-on: 1 smooth scrap yarn (e.g., cotton) with the same weight as the working yarn.
