Piilo Cardigan
Piilo Cardigan is a classic, chunky cardigan, worked in garter stitch with V-neck.
The body is worked flat top down with raglan increases, either with a boxy shape or with
decreases along the body’s sides.
The sleeves are worked in rounds with wide cuffs, which give the cardigan with its accentuated decreases a very special look.
You can combine the cardigan with any style of clothing and style it casual, rustic, elegant and even traditional

The longer your body, the more buttonholes you should work.
Yarn usage may vary depending on whether you knit rather tight or loose and how long you want your sweater to be.
If in doubt, add an additional skein of yarn.
I’ll present you with a yarn that you can use for this project.
Some yarns and colours are available from the respective companies for longer, others are discontinued more quickly.
Of course, you can use any other yarn with a comparable meterage.
Particularly suitable are light yarns, as garments worked in garter stitch tend to “stretch”.
A recommendation would be e.g., Drops Air or Lamana Como Tweed.
Recommended needles
Circular needle 3,5 mm, min. 100 cm long,
Circular needle 4,5 mm, 40 cm and 100 cm long,
Circular needle 5 mm, 40 cm and 100 cm long.
The sleeves are worked on a short circular needle (e.g., 40 cm long). Alternatively, they can be worked on a long circular needle with the Magic Loop method, with dpns or any other needle system of your choice.
Wash and block your gauge swatch. Let it dry flat. Thereafter, count the stitches and rows.
10 x 10 cm in garter stitch =
18 sts x 32 rows on needle 5 mm with
original yarn.
