Details
Yarn recommendation & yardage
Raakel Tee is worked with a light base yarn (such as Nepal or Tynn Line) and—depending on the look you want—optionally paired with a fluffy carry-along strand. This keeps the fabric airy while adding softness and a subtle halo. You can also choose a classic silk mohair, or a cotton-based alternative—just make sure you meet the stated gauge.
7/8 sleeves (original yarns)
Pascuali Nepal
(60% organic cotton, 28% linen, 12% nettle, approx. 180 m / 50 g)
→ 300 (300) 300 (350) 400 (450) 450 g
Lana Grossa Seta Suri
(69% suri alpaca, 31% silk, approx. 212 m / 25 g)
→ 100 (125) 125 (150) 150 (175) 175 g
Fiberpassion Suri Cloud
(74% baby suri alpaca, 26% silk, approx. 300 m / 50 g)
→ 150 (150) 150 (200) 200 (250) 250 g
Short sleeves (original yarn)
Sandnes Garn Tynn Line
(53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen, approx. 220 m / 50 g)
→ 200 (200) 200 (250) 250 (300) 300 g
Note: Yardage may vary depending on yarn choice and your preferred sleeve length.
Yarn alternatives
Base yarn alternatives (instead of Pascuali Nepal 180 m / 50 g)

Fluffy carry-along alternatives (instead of Lana Grossa Seta Suri 212 m / 25 g)
For all options below, use the same amount as for Seta Suri:

= 4 (5) 5 (6) 6 (7) 7 skeins of 25 g
Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair

Character: Airy and soft with a fine halo—an uncomplicated alternative.
Kremke Silky Kid

Character: Less sheen than silk mohair, softer cotton feel—especially nice for spring/summer layering.
FAQs
Which size should I choose?
Sizes are given by the upper body circumference measured below the armholes. Raakel Tee is designed with a relaxed fit and positive ease. If you prefer less ease, choose a smaller size.
How relaxed is the fit?
The tee is intentionally loose and becomes slightly narrower towards the hem, creating gentle shaping without feeling tight.
Can I choose between short sleeves and 7/8 sleeves?
Yes. The pattern includes both sleeve lengths: short sleeves and an elegant 7/8 option.
Can I adjust the lengths?
Yes. Thanks to the seamless top-down construction you can easily adjust body and sleeve length. If you lengthen significantly, plan a little extra yarn.
Which yarns work as alternatives?
The key is to match the gauge of 21 sts × 34 rows on 3.5 mm. For the base yarn, choose a similar meterage class; for the fluffy strand you can use silk mohair or mohair/cotton alternatives.
Do I have to use a fluffy carry-along strand?
No. You can knit Raakel Tee without it. The fabric will look cleaner and feel lighter, with less halo.
Is this pattern suitable for beginners?
It’s suitable for ambitious beginners who have some experience knitting in the round and working increases. All steps are explained in detail.
Why does the gauge say “washed & blocked”?
Many yarns change after washing. Knit a swatch, wash and block it like the finished garment, and only then measure and adjust needle size if needed.
