Kaiili Jumper Knitting Pattern
A relaxed, timeless jumper with a European shoulder construction and wide ribbed edges.
The Kaiili Jumper is worked seamlessly from the top down in stockinette stitch. Its straight shape, round neckline and distinctive shoulder construction create a clean, modern silhouette.
The jumper can be knitted in one colour or with stripes. Body and sleeve lengths can easily be adjusted while knitting.
Construction
The back is worked first in rows. Increases on both sides shape the European shoulders.
Stitches for the two front shoulders are then picked up directly from the back. The right and left front are worked separately while the neckline is shaped, then joined by casting on stitches at the centre front.
Once the armholes have reached the required depth, the front and back are joined and the body is worked in the round.
The front and back hem bands are worked separately in rows, creating small side slits. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes and the sleeves are worked seamlessly in the round.
The neckband is picked up and worked last.

FAQs
How is the Kaiili Jumper constructed?
The jumper is worked seamlessly from the top down. The back is worked first, followed by the two front shoulders. The fronts are joined after the neckline shaping, then the body is worked in the round. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes.
What is a European shoulder?
A European shoulder is shaped by increasing along both outer edges of the upper back. The front shoulders are picked up from these edges. This creates a defined shoulder line without traditional raglan seams.
Can I adjust the length?
Yes. Both the body and sleeves are worked from the top down, so their lengths can easily be adjusted while knitting.
Do I have to use one of the suggested yarns?
No. Any yarn may be used as long as the washed and blocked gauge of 19 sts × 28 rows or rnds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 inis achieved.
Is the Kaiili Jumper suitable for beginners?
The pattern is suitable for confident beginners who are comfortable knitting in rows and rounds, working increases and picking up stitches.
